Excellent examples were given, zooming into Lyme disease, rotavirus and OMV vaccines. In addition, gastrointestinal models to study the microbiome in relation to health and disease were presented.
Immuno Valley Pitch Award 2017 to Martin van Eijk, Utrecht University
In the afternoon session, 8 pitch speakers presented their opportunity for collaboration in short pitch talks. The pitch winner was chosen by the audience and was awarded ‘A year in the spotlight from Immuno Valley’, which includes interviews and regular updates on the progress of this project. Dr Martin van Eijk, from Utrecht University won this year’s Immuno Valley Pitch Award for his presentation on the PepBiotics partnership opportunity. Martin commented “The Immuno Valley Annual Conference was a great platform to pitch and discuss our ‘PepBiotics’ project with business partners and scientists from so many different institutes. Being ‘in the spotlights’ of Immuno Valley during the forthcoming year will surely help us even more in finding partners that will contribute to further development of this promising novel antimicrobial drug as alternative for conventional antibiotics.”
The Immuno Valley team congratulates Martin van Eijk with his Award and thanks all participants for an excellent conference.
